Altered TCG is an innovative trading card game (TCG) that offers a fresh approach for both competitive and casual players. Set in a visually rich, reshaped Earth after a mysterious event called the Confluence, the game combines lore-driven exploration with a unique gameplay style. Players choose a hero, join a faction, and lead expeditions through an ever-changing world. The game blends fantasy elements with colorful illustrations inspired by works like Dixit and League of Legends.
What sets Altered apart is its phygital model, combining both physical and digital experiences. Players can collect cards digitally and print physical copies as needed, which significantly reduces the cost of building decks compared to traditional TCGs. Instead of buying endless booster packs to find specific cards, players can order additional copies of cards they own for a nominal fee, making it easier to build customized decks for tournaments or casual play.
The gameplay is for two players and involves strategic expedition management where players seek to progress their heroes and companions across regions.
Each game turn is called "A Day of Exploration" and includes the following phases
- Morning (Untap and draw)
- Noon (Activated abilities)
- Afternoon (Play cards and quick actions)
- Dusk (Expedition updates)
- Night (Rest and cleanup)
Both players play during the same turn, the difference is which player is the acting first player that turn.
Developed by French studio Equinox and designed by Régis Bonnessée, the creator of Dixit and Mysterium, Altered has already gained traction

In Altered, you’ll lead two Expeditions as they discover and explore the land surrounding your native peninsula of Asgartha. One of your Expeditions will be led by your Hero, represented by the Hero Expedition marker, and the other one is led by their Companion, represented by the Companion Expedition marker. Your Expeditions will progress towards each other as the game goes on, and your goal is to be the first to have them meet up.
To win Altered you will have both your expedition tokens (Hero and Companion) meet or pass each other on the Adventure Cards.
